    Position Summary


    The Department of Medicine at the University at Buffalo (UB), Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (JSMBS), Nephrology Division, is actively recruiting candidates to apply for a position as Transplant Nephrologist. Overall duties include serving as attending physician for inpatient and ambulatory services, consultation and follow-up of patients, teaching students, training residents and supervision of Nephrology and Transplant fellows.

    The Kidney Pancreas Transplant program at UB is based at the Center of Excellence for Transplantation and Kidney Care at the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC). The program has undergone substantial expansion, with 140 transplants performed annually.

    Prospective candidates will be appointed at the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor level.

    Minimum Qualifications



    • MD, DO, or equivalent degree required

    • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine

    • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Nephrology

    • Fellowship trained in Transplant Nephrology approved by the American Society of Transplant

    • Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of NY

    • Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice



    Preferred Qualifications



    • Demonstrated skills in clinical transplant Nephrology

    • Effective written and verbal communication skill

    • Participation in clinical and/or translational research is encouraged
