Position Summary
The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo (UB), State University of New York, the Department of Medicine, Division of Internal Medicine-Hospitalists, is seeking qualified Hospitalists with exceptional clinical and academic skills. Hospitalists will serve as clinical faculty and will be overseeing the care of patients at two of our major affiliated hospital systems. Qualified candidates will be appointed at the Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor level. Overall duties include but not limited to:
- Hospitalists admit and round on all patients assigned to the Hospitalist Service (primarily adult, med/surg, telemetry patients) and consults on other services. As the MICU, CCU and OBS are closed units, the Hospitalist Physician is NOT responsible for these admissions.
- During an average shift, Physicians will round on an average of 14-16 patient with 1-2 admits per day.
- Common conditions managed are congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, diabetes, stroke, acute coronary syndrome, and sepsis.
- The Hospitalists teams are not responsible for rapid response or codes.
- The successful candidate will be expected to take advantage of the many opportunities for teaching medical students and supervising and training internal medicine residents, based on experience.

Minimum Qualifications
- MD, DO, or equivalent degree
- Board certification or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
- Eligible for Medical Licensure in New York State received by the date of hire
- Current and Unrestricted DEA Certificate required by the date of hire
