Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics, University at Buffalo (UB), Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and Oishei Childrens Hospital of Buffalo (OCH) is actively recruiting for a board certified/board eligible pediatrician to serve in an urban, community-based, general pediatric ambulatory practice. The department is particularly interested in candidates who have strong interests in community partnerships, comprehensive primary care, and advocacy for underserved populations. The clinics are New York State certified Patient-Centered Medical Homes and are core ambulatory training sites for pediatric residents and medical students. Ambulatory call duties and weekend newborn nursery coverage are shared equally with other faculty members of the division. The successful candidate will have an appointment with the University commensurate to rank. The position offers excellent benefits.

UBMD Pediatrics is one of 18 practice plans within UBMD Physicians Group, the single largest medical group in Western New York. We provide premier health care to infants, children, adolescents and adults. In addition to primary care pediatrics, we have 17 pediatric subspecialties. Our physicians make up the academic teaching faculty within the Department of Pediatrics at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo and at Oishei Childrens Hospital. About the Buffalo/Niagara region
Buffalo is the second-largest city in New York State and is located in the western region on the shores of Lake Erie, upriver of the majestic Niagara Falls. Buffalo - the City of Good Neighbors - is a big city with a rapidly growing economy, vital academic health sciences center, outstanding public schools, and modest cost of living. Buffalo-Niagara, a region of 1.2 million people, is home to world-class art galleries and museums, a comprehensive city-wide system of parks and green space designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, a vibrant theater and music community, an abundance of restaurants for every palette, and major and minor league sports teams. Buffalo is home to iconic historical landmarks, diverse attractions, and hosts many annual cultural events. Buffalo is close to two significant wine growing regions-Niagara Escarpment and the Finger Lakes region. In addition, the Adirondack Mountains are half-a-days drive from Buffalo. Rich in natural resources and beauty, the Buffalo Niagara area is a four-season region that offers the best for seasonal sports enthusiasts. Due to its mild temperatures, low risk of natural disasters, abundant fresh water, and clean energy production, Buffalo is a great place to work, study and live - going from "Punchline to Lifeline". For more information, please see the following website.

University at Buffalo is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and, in keeping with our commitment, welcomes all to apply including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
