The Department of Pediatrics, University at Buffalo (UB), Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and Oishei Children’s Hospital of Buffalo (OCH) is actively recruiting candidates for the position of Division Chief of Adolescent Medicine. This faculty position will provide leadership to the physicians and staff in the Division of Adolescent Medicine focusing on the health and psychosocial needs of adolescents and young adults, ages 12-30, which includes both an inpatient hospital section and 2 outpatient locations

Subspecialty patient services include:
  • eating disorders
  • sexually transmitted diseases
  • alcohol and substance abuse
  • mental health conditions
  • reproductive health care
  • gender dysphoria
  • chronic disease

The incoming Division Chief will:
  • Demonstrate leadership and further develop the clinical operations and scholarship within the division.
  • Recruit and mentor academically outstanding faculty members.
  • Grow multidisciplinary clinical programs.
  • Oversee the education of medical students and residents in Adolescent Medicine.
  • Supervise and collaborate with the Nurse Practitioner and dietician in the division.
  • Expand research activities of the Division and participate in collaborative research projects within the division and with other departments or institutions.
  • Engage in scholarly research initiatives and activities, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance patient care related to adolescent health and medicine.
  • Contribute to the advancement of adolescent medicine services within the department, promoting evidence-based practices and innovative approaches.
  • Participate in Department of Pediatrics Division Chiefs and Department of Pediatrics Faculty meetings.
  • Serve as a resource for colleagues, medical staff, and healthcare professionals in matters related to adolescent health.

UBMD Pediatrics is one of 18 practice plans within UBMD Physicians’ Group, the single largest medical group in Western New York. We provide premier health care to infants, children, adolescents and adults. In addition to primary care pediatrics, we have 17 pediatric subspecialties. Our physicians make up the academic teaching faculty within the Department of Pediatrics at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo and at Oishei Children’s Hospital.
