The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking an Assistant Professor in Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research. The primary role of this position will be to coordinate and supervise research in the laboratory of Dr. Patrick Sullivan and the CNS-Met COBRE metabolism core. The faculty member in this position will also participate with other faculty in the Center and other departments in the development of multi-investigator projects and applications for extramural funding. Research and other creative activities will include, but are not limited to, initiating and performing research; collaborating with faculty and other professionals inside/outside the institution to provide scientific direction and guidance on issues related to the design, conduct, and evaluation of research and other scholarly activities; leading and participating in the submission of applications to appropriate extramural agencies; and providing scientific and technical assistance to the College, University and community for research and other creative activities.
Professional development activities will include, but are not limited to, becoming involved in other academic duties, such as serving on Center, departmental and university committees appropriate for academic rank. This individual will also be encouraged to engage in professional-related activities on local, state, and national workgroups, committees and technical advisory panels.
