Expertise: Dr. Jeffrey Gonzalez's research focuses on identifying factors associated with treatment nonadherence in and developing interventions to improve treatment adherence among patients with chronic illness, particularly diabetes and HIV/AIDS. His research has recently focused on the link between depression and distress and diabetes treatment nonaderence as a potential pathway for understanding the negative effects of depression on diabetes outcomes
