Dr. Lim's research interests are broadly in the field of pediatric psychology, which is based on tenets of clinical child psychology and pediatric medicine. Dr. Lim's research interests are in the areas of pediatric obesity and weight management, psychological correlates and adherence in pediatric chronic illnesses, and chronic pain management. Her current research program focuses on developing novel interventions to help children and their parents engage in healthier lifestyles, such as eating healthier foods and increasing engagement in physical activity. Dr. Lim is also interested in identifying barriers that impede families' engagement in healthy lifestyle behaviors, such as chronic pain and negative social experiences, with the goal of developing and evaluating new treatments to address these barriers. Dr. Lim is also interested in cultural diversity and health disparities, with specific interest in how culture intersects with child and parent engagement in health behaviors and health beliefs. The overarching goal of Dr. Lim's research is to improve quality of life and overall health in children with chronic medical conditions and their families.
