Liying is currently undertaking a Fight for Sight-funded Clinical Fellowship, supervised by Miss Saaeha Rauz, Dr Graham Wallace, Dr Nick Loman and Prof PI Murray, investigating the relationship between immune responses, host genotype and gut microbiome profile that may contribute to the clinical manifestations in ocular inflammatory disease.
She has received the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth)/Fight for Sight Ophthalmology Research Trainee Network Award grant funding - novel use of nanopore-sequencing for rapid identification of causative pathogens and their resistance genes in endophthalmitis.
