Professor Julian Archer has an established track record in leadership in the higher education and healthcare sectors. He has combined 20 years in healthcare delivery – currently as a paediatric consultant in the English National Health Service, senior advocacy roles in healthcare and education with internationally recognised expertise in assessment, standards and regulatory policy and practice across the medical continuum.
He established and, as its Director, has built the Collaboration for the Advancement of Medical Education Research &Assessment (CAMERA) at Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry into one of the world’s leading centres for medical education research. He has been personally funded by prestigious National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) lectureships/fellowships between 2007-2017.
He works tirelessly with government, regulators, service providers and the public to impact on best assessment and regulatory practice in the workplace to support healthcare professionals, health service systems,their management, delivery and related politics to deliver safe patient care.
