Dr. Dorling’s research expertise covers a wide variety of methodologies with a focus towards providing evidence based medical and clinical care for newborn infants. Clinical trials and systematic reviews are the core of this work.
He has a particular interest in trials of feeding premature and sick infants (having led SIFT, one of the largest Neonatal trials ever as chief investigator). He is also part of international efforts to progress research into the management of Neonatal resuscitation/stabilisation having been a member of the CORD pilot trial in the UK of stabilization with the cord intact.
He has experience of supervising masters and PhD students and welcomes discussions with those considering postgraduate study in neonatal care.
