Andrea Garroway, PhD, is a Senior Instructor at the University of Rochester Medical Center's Institute for the Family in the Department of Psychiatry. She holds a secondary appointment in the Department of Medicine, working within the Internal Medicine Residency program teaching communication skills, participating in resident education, and promoting resident wellness/self-care. She received her PhD in clinical psychology in 2015 from Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus in behavioral medicine. She completed her clinical internship (clinical health psychology track) and an Advanced Fellowship in Women's Health at VA Connecticut Healthcare System. Her professional interests include integrating mental health care into primary care settings, interprofessional training and teaching, and trauma-informed medical care. She has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals on interprofessional education, integrated primary care, and patient healthcare experiences.
