Expertise: Dr. Thornburg's research interest include obesity and impact on ultrasound visualization, accuracy and birth weight prediction. Addition areas of interest include maternal diabetes, expecially in the obese patient, and the impact on pregnancy outcomes as well as preterm PROM. She currently is engaged in active research in the affects and care of women with obesity in pregnancy, and the education of residents using simulation based teaching.
