Expertise: My research focuses on the health effects of air pollution, with a current focus on the contribution of air pollution to individuals suffering from respiratory viral infections. My prior work focused on the systemic effects of air pollution showing inflammation in the body. I am also actively looking for ways to protect patients from both indoor and outdoor air pollution. My research team I will soon start a trial of placing HEPA filter units to clean the air in the homes of patients who are discharged from the hospital after COPD exacerbations.
