My specialty is physical medicine and rehab. I primarily see patients with back and neck pain but also with general musculoskeletal problems. I am not a surgeon, and I do not prescribe narcotics. Instead, I focus on more conservative treatments that get patients more comfortable, active and back to their daily activities. I also see patients in the amputee performance clinic. In this clinic, I work as part of a team to work with patients so they can function well with their new limbs. All the medical literature says it’s the patient who tells the doctor what’s wrong with them, not the other way around. So I try and listen to my patients to get a good idea of their symptoms and how they affect their life. I also believe in using humor to lighten things up a bit and in letting patients know that they have some control over getting better.
