I am interested in improving our understanding of the ways in which we treat hip and knee disorders, particularly hip and knee replacement. This includes improving the way we deliver treatments, whether by understanding better the surgical techniques, outcomes after surgery, or ways we implement practice guidelines. I also am interested in improving outcomes in hip and knee revisions or "re-do" operations in which something has gone wrong with the original surgery, whether fracture, infection, loosening, or another problem. I think that by doing research we can help answer outstanding questions and therefore improve the care we give to our patients. Research has great practical application for clinical practice.
