Expertise: Dr. Richard Frothingham directs the Regional Biocontainment Laboratory (RBL) at Duke. The RBL supports research to develop treatments and vaccines against hazardous microbes including tuberculosis, plague, and influenza. Under the direction of Dr. Frothingham, during the recent Ebola outbreak, Duke clinicians received advanced training in the proper use of personal protective equipment.
