An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an outstanding individual to join the University's senior leadership team. The Faculty Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Medicine Health and Life Sciences will play a key role in supporting the Vice-Chancellor in the academic leadership and management of the University.
Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences has over 740 academic and research staff and approximately 6,500 students. The Faculty comprises four Schools: Biological Sciences; Nursing and Midwifery;Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences; and Pharmacy and prides itself in having a world class education programme and this is reflected in the consistently high NSS scores achieved.
The successful candidate, internationally recognised for their research and scholarship, will have extensive leadership and management experience and a proven track record of success in leading and delivering strategic objectives.

The University has been working in partnership with the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust to secure funding for a Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) for Northern Ireland and has submitted a proposal to the Northern Ireland Executive for a BRC. Experience of running a multi-disciplinary, world leading Health Sciences centre ensuring the timely translation of research discoveries into medical advances, to include experience in the development and operation of a Biomedical Research Centre.
