    Position Summary


    The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at SUNY Buffalo is seeking an outstanding physician leader to serve as Program Director (PD) for the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program. This is a unique opportunity to lead a well-established, dually-accredited residency program dedicated to training compassionate, skilled, and versatile Med-Peds physicians.

    The Program Director will oversee all aspects of program administration, curriculum development, accreditation, faculty engagement, resident recruitment, and educational innovation. The PD will serve as a key faculty leader within both the Departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, reporting to departmental chairs and the Designated Institutional Official (DIO).

    Key Responsibilities:



      • Provide strategic and operational leadership of the Med-Peds residency program in alignment with ACGME requirements.

      • Design, implement, and continuously evaluate the educational curriculum and clinical training experiences.

      • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate Med-Peds residents and core faculty.

      • Foster a culture of inclusion, wellness, academic excellence, and continuous improvement.

      • Collaborate with leadership from Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, affiliated hospitals, and GME office.

      • Ensure ongoing program accreditation and regulatory compliance.

      • Participate in scholarly activity and represent the program at regional and national levels.

    Minimum Qualifications



    • MD, DO, or equivalent degree with board certification in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.

    • Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in New York State.

    • At least 3-5 years of clinical experience post-residency.

    • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, mentoring, and leadership within graduate medical education.

    • Familiarity with ACGME accreditation standards and requirements




    Preferred Qualifications



    • Prior experience as an Associate or Assistant Program Director.

    • Record of scholarly activity in medical education or clinical research.

    • Experience in curriculum design, evaluation, or quality improvement initiatives.

    • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical education.
