  • Assistant or Associate Professor in Family Medicine
    7H460:FAMILY AND COMMUNITY MEDICINE
    University of Kentucky

The University of Kentucky Department of Family & Community Medicine (DFCM) seeks a qualified family physician to join our Lexington-based residency program. We are seeking to grow our obstetrics practice in the residency program and applicants with obstetric experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

The UK Department of Family and Community Medicine has a 6/6/6 family medicine residency program in Lexington, Kentucky. DFCM also has additional primary care practices in Georgetown, Hazard, and Hindman, Kentucky, and an independent rural residency program in Hazard, Kentucky. Our Lexington faculty teaches residents in outpatient and inpatient settings and participates in all four years of medical student education, including a required clerkship in Family Medicine. Faculty physicians who practice non-surgical obstetrics oversee prenatal care at Turfland Clinic (NCQA Level 3 PCMH) and deliveries of residents’ continuity patients at Albert Chandler Hospital, UK Health Care.

With several NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Level 3 certified clinics, we serve as leaders at UK HealthCare, a $1.67 billion health system, in its primary care delivery strategy by implementing value-based clinical redesign and population medicine programs. We have aligned our clinical approach to enhance UDS and MACRA quality measures through pre-visit planning, comprehensive nurse assessment, and a care management team involving social workers and RN care managers. We are a national leader in transitional care management and its impact on unnecessary hospital readmissions. Our department’s clinical volume includes 92,647 annual visits and 2,411 hospital discharges across our 4 current clinics and 2 hospital services.

These activities, plus departmental leadership in population medicine, practice-based research network, and academic programs afford opportunities for faculty to participate in a variety of innovative programs. We offer competitive compensation based on rank and experience and an excellent benefits package that includes health, dental and life insurance; disability and malpractice insurance; a generous retirement plan; continuing education; paid time off and more.

Please include a CV and cover letter along with application. Applications will be reviewed immediately, and will continue until the position is filled.
