The Wake Forest Movement Disorder Fellowship is a two-year program.  We have one of the oldest Movement Disorder programs in the Carolinas and the DBS program is among the nation’s busiest and offers close collaboration between neurology and neurosurgery.  The fellow will see clinic patients with both faculty and APPs in specialty clinics: Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, pediatric movement including tic disorders, and cognitive-behavioral.  The fellow will also have their own continuity clinic. The fellow will receive hands-on procedural training in: DBS evaluation, intraoperative MER, and programing; Duopa pump evaluation and programing; Botulinum toxin injections with electrical stimulation and EMG guidance.  The fellow will not have in-patient call/consults.  The fellow will have a research project and present at least once at a national or international meeting.

Each applicant is required to have completed a residency program in Adult Neurology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education in the U.S. or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Applicants must qualify for licensure by the North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners and must be board-eligible.
