The Department of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences is seeking faculty candidates at the tenure-eligible or tenured ranks. Preferred candidates should have an extramurally funded research program, or for junior candidates, high promise of securing extramural funding, on basic and/or translational research in diabetes/obesity or related comorbid conditions. This research expansion aligns with our campus-wide focus on health disparities and our newly consolidated Healthy Kentucky Research Group structured to bring diverse groups of experts together to solve the most pressing healthcare problems in our region and beyond.
Areas of strength in the department, the broader research group and centers include basic, translational, and clinical research on mechanisms of diabetes/obesity and associated diseases including cardiovascular and fatty liver diseases, cancers and dementias/aging. Candidates should have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree, a successful postdoctoral experience, and for more senior applicants, a history of sustained productivity as evidenced by publications, grant funding, and mentorship. Successful candidates will be offered highly competitive start-up packages. Please note that faculty are expected to participate in the department’s academic programs.
