Job Description Summary
The Scott-Ritchey Research Center, Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position as an Assistant Research Professor of Translational Medicine. The incumbent will (a) collaborate in ongoing, funded investigations to develop gene therapy for inherited or acquired disorders, and (b) develop an independent research program on molecular therapy of cancer and related diseases. Specifically, the incumbent will develop advanced therapeutics for ultimate translation into animal and human medicine. Additional expectations include generation of extramural funding through federal, industry, gift or other sources, and development of a strong record of peer-reviewed scientific publications in nationally recognized journals and conferences.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in an area of biomedical research and have performed relevant postdoctoral training leading to expertise in molecular therapeutics at the time employment begins. Documented ability to communicate scientific information to peer researchers in English is required. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required. Subsequent renewal of employment will depend upon satisfactory performance in the position and availability of funding.
