This is a grant funded position and is not eligible for severance pay.

The Department of Developmental, Molecular and Chemical Biology is a basic science department that studies biochemical and cell biological mechanisms. The Juo lab studies synapse development and function using the genetic model organism C. elegans.
Under close supervision of the principal investigator, Dr. Peter Juo, the research technician will work largely on an independent research project investigating molecular mechanisms involved in synapse development and function using a variety of routine experiments following established protocols (using genetic, molecular biology, biochemistry and microscopy techniques), and perform some routine lab maintenance (i.e., making solutions, pouring growth media, freezing strains). May also record test results, analyze data using basic statistics, maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, and monitor animal colonies.
