The University of Kentucky, College of Health Sciences, Department of Physician Assistant Studies (PAS) is currently accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. The PAS program is housed at the Lexington campus and at a satellite location in Morehead, Kentucky to support our commitment to rural health. Our well-established and nationally respected program offers an entry-level Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies and enrolls a total of 56 students annually between the two campuses. The program is accredited by the ARC-PA.
The successful candidate for this 12- month tenure-eligible position based on the Morehead campus will contribute to the teaching mission of the program in the didactic and/or clinical components of the PAS curriculum, as well as to scholarship and service. Participation with program evaluation and assessment activities for ARC-PA accreditation requirements is expected. The position offers a flexible balance of instruction, research, service and professional development to facilitate individual faculty focus to maximize productivity and success. The successful candidate may participate in the practice plan (up to 20% of effort) to provide direct evidence-based patient care as a licensed PA-C in a clinical setting.
Competitive salaries are commensurate with qualifications and experience. A master’s degree in PAS or health care related field is required with a doctorate preferred. Teaching experience and a record of participation in scholarly activities (e.g., peer-reviewed presentations, publications, grants or other creative products) is preferred, but not required. All applicants must hold current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and be eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
