The University of Kentucky, Department of Radiology, Division of Neuroradiology is expanding and seeks an exceptional radiologist for a full-time faculty position (working exclusive for UK). This overnight position is 7 on/14 off, ~10p-8a; on-site, hybrid or remote.
Clinical work includes CT and MR neuroimaging in adults and children as well as CT, MR, US and XR body imaging, predominantly on inpatients and emergency patients.
Our primary practice location is the academic medical center in Lexington, which is a Level I Trauma Center for adults and children. We are a Comprehensive Stroke Center. We have professional services contracts with a few regional community hospitals including Frankfort, our state capital. Our division emphasizes collegiality and flexibility. We promote faculty career development.
In addition to a complement of 32 diagnostic radiology residents, we have two Neuroradiology fellowships, each with one fellow per year. Some participation in workstation teaching is expected. This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.
