Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of biochemical genetics. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree. Ph.D. applicants must have appropriate postgraduate board certification or active candidate status (ABMGG in Clinical Biochemical Genetics). M.D. applicants must have board eligibility/certification in clinical pathology along with experience in biochemical genetics. Physicians must be eligible/licensed in the state of Pennsylvania.
Teaching responsibilities may include fellows, residents, medical and graduate students.
Clinical responsibilities may include assisting in oversight of the Metabolic Lab, clinical test interpretation, quality control, innovation and test development. The successful candidate will serve as Assistant Director of the Michael Palmieri Laboratory for Metabolic and Advanced Diagnostics. Demonstrated ability in advanced test development for lysosomal storage disorders along with mass spectrometry expertise is strongly preferred.
