The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is inviting applications for a full-time faculty position with a focus and lead the work of suicide prevention treatment and research in the Department Center for Depression and Suicide. The position is classified as a Clinician-Researcher, tenure earning faculty appointment within the School of Medicine. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications. The ideal candidate should have both research and clinical experience in this area and should have a strong background in implementation science. The person will develop Center connections in suicide prevention at the local, state, and national level. The faculty member will direct training efforts in the Department, UAB Health System, university, and beyond; this will include residents, medical students, graduate students, and undergraduates at UAB. The person will be an active researcher and should be willing to provide direct patient care. The candidate should have an MD or PhD or equivalent degree. Researchers also have abundant opportunities for collaboration with neuroscience faculty in other departments. UAB is a major regional medical center with excellent resources and benefits.
