The Wake Forest Neurocritical Care Fellowship is a two-year, UCNS-certified fellowship focused on management of patients with severe neurologic illness and encompasses both clinical care and research opportunities. The fellowship prepares fellows to independently practice the subspecialty of Neurocritical Care. After completing the Fellowship, fellows will be prepared for either an academic or private practice position. Neurocritical care fellows will be extensively trained in the evaluation and management of neurologic emergencies, care for the neurologically critically ill patient, and general intensive care. Fellows are eligible for the UCNS neurocritical care certification exam after they successfully complete the fellowship. Each applicant is required to have completed a residency program in either Neurology, Neurological Surgery, Anesthesiology, or Emergency Medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education in the U.S. or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Applicants must qualify for licensure by the North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners and must be board-eligible. Qualified applicants are required to apply through the SF Match Central Application Service (CAS). Foreign medical graduates must have passed the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Gradates (ECFMG) and USMLE exams. For more information, visit the ECFMG website. We sponsor J-1 visas only, which you must have at the time of your application.
