The Department of Radiology at the University of California, Davis invites applications from qualified candidates for an Associate Specialist position. We aim to recruit outstanding individuals with the appropriate background and/or experience, capable of interacting with our many collaborators.

This position has a focus on supporting computational imaging research and the computational infrastructure at the EXPLORER Molecular Imaging Center which houses the world’s first total-body PET/CT scanner, as well as other research using data from other radiological imaging systems. This position will also serve as a research IT coordinator for EXPLORER projects conducted by investigators in the Department of Radiology, from other UC campuses, other Institutions and Industry studies.

Examples of duties include, but are not limited to:

1) Developing, validating and characterizing algorithms for mining of image and related data
2) Designing, building, characterizing and maintaining data processing pipelines
3) Designing, building and maintaining computerized databases to support research projects
4) Developing expertise in specialized research software suites and manage integration of such into operational workflows and research projects; provide training and support as need.
5) Monitor data quality and work with research teams to resolve issues related to data source validity.
6) Set up, monitor, and maintain mission-critical computer systems for research use.

Qualified candidates must possess an MS or BS degree in a relevant field and have 5 years of design, programming, QA and database development experience.
