Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics, University at Buffalo (UB), Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and Oishei Children’s Hospital is actively recruiting for a full-time position in the Division of General Pediatrics; a pediatrician to focus on well newborn nursery care. Candidates must be BE/BC pediatric physicians interested in a long-term focus on newborn nursery medicine and education.

Clinical responsibilities will include infant care in two actively growing newborn nursery units, one at Oishei Children’s Hospital and the other at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.

Faculty duties include education, oversight and instruction of pediatric resident and medical students from Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

Leadership and research opportunities in newborn medicine education, breastfeeding, and advocacy are available. Rounding, clinical care and call is shared among the newborn nursery physicians, with on-site neonatology backup at both sites. Additional opportunities exist for clinical, research and education duties in pediatric hospital medicine or community-based primary care ambulatory clinics if desired.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be BE/BC pediatric physicians interested in a long-term focus on newborn nursery medicine and education.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in clinical, research and education duties in pediatric hospital medicine or community-based primary care ambulatory clinics.

Physical Demands
Must have very good hand eye coordination for immunizations and other procedures. Able to sit and stand for long periods of time for the examination patients. Must have steady hands and be able to hold arms, legs and patients in one place for a long amount of time.
