The Department of Medicine of Louisiana State University Health Science Center ( LSUHSC) School of Medicine is seeking a candidate for an academic faculty positions at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor – Research for the school’s regional campus in Lafayette, Louisiana. This is a non-clinical faculty position with both academic and administrative duties. Academic responsibilities include an emphasis on teaching, research and program development in areas related to diversity in medical education, inclusion and health equity (DEI). In collaboration with the Office of Diversity and Community Engagement and the Office of Medical Education, the incumbent is responsible for DEI instruction and program development for medical students and residents on the Lafayette campus and assists with instruction and program development on other LSUHSC campuses. In collaboration with the Office of Research, the incumbent conducts DEI research and mentors residents, students and clinical faculty in research and scholarly projects related to DEI in healthcare or medical education. Administrative duties include oversight of accreditation of graduate medical education (GME) and undergraduate medical education (UME) programs on the Lafayette regional campus. This includes working collaboratively with GME and UME offices in New Orleans and with affiliated clinical partners in Lafayette. The successful incumbent will have opportunities for academic and administrative advancement.
