The Division of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Buffalo (UB), and the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital (OCH) is seeking a Clinical Assistant or Associate to fill a position that provides direction and leadership to implement emergency care standards, practice and competencies of the OCH.

As a Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor you will be responsible for:
  • Assisting the Chief to meet or exceed expected outcome measures including patient satisfaction, length of stay, and clinical standards.
  • Maintaining effective and responsive relationships with patients, managing professional and clerical staff.
  • Working alongside and supervise students, residents, fellows and APPs in all areas of the Emergency department.
The preferred candidate will have experience in:
  • Directing a pediatric transport team and providing community outreach
  • Pediatric US director experience, including various devices and Qpath
  • Structuring resident educational sessions

Salary: $62,466

About the Division
We are a growing division with 14 faculty members with an ACGME accredited fellowship program. Our recently new 28 bed ED (19 exam; 5 kids express & 4 trauma) serves 45,000 pediatric patients per year, has an operational Helipad and is the only level 1 pediatric trauma center in Western New York.

The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo has recently received the CTSA award and is located on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. The central multidisciplinary clinical environment provides access to high-quality care, including innovations in preventative medicine, and supports critical research programs.
