The Inflammation and Pain Laboratory (LID) at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University São Paulo (FMRP-USP) in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil offers a post-doctoral position under the supervision of Prof. Dr. José Carlos Alves Filho. The selected candidate will work in an experimental model of COVID-19, aiming to investigate the importance of amphiregulin in tissue repair and the development of pulmonary fibrosis resulting from SARS-CoV-2 infection.

The laboratory is linked to the Center for Research on Inflammatory Diseases (CRID), a Research, Innovation  and Dissemination Center (RIDC) supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and hosted by FMRP-USP.

We are looking for highly motivated, innovative, creative candidates capable of working independently and in a team environment. Previous experience in molecular and cell biology and virology is required. Prior experience in techniques such as cell culture, viral manipulation and isolation, and in vivo viral infection experiments is required. Candidates with experience at biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) laboratories will be given priority.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 8,479.20 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
