The Central Michigan University College of Medicine is seeking a full time highly qualified physician faculty for a non-tenure track student health position in Psychiatry. This is a unique opportunity for physicians to provide psychiatric services through Student Health Services. Successful candidates will assume a role that will include clinical practice and committee service.

Positions will be at Assistant – Associate – Full Professor rank, depending on credentials. Start dates are negotiable. To be considered for this appointment applicants are expected to demonstrate multidimensional qualifications in clinical practice and involvement in community based and regional initiatives focusing on mental health.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: M.D. or D.O. degree, certification by an American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association recognized clinical specialty, licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Michigan, established credentials or developing potential in clinical practice, strong collaborative and communication skills, and demonstrated commitment to diversity. Applicants applying for advanced rank should have a demonstrated record of teaching and an established area of scholarly activity.

Engage in outpatient and/or inpatient clinical work in community based clinics, participate in developing the practice plan of the College of Medicine through student health services.
Provide direct therapeutic services in the form of diagnostic assessments and medication/somatic treatment for the CMU student population.
Participate on interdisciplinary teams; Provides advising and making recommendations of the students overall treatment plan.
Responsible for maintaining client records in accordance with established policies and procedures
In collaboration with other clinicians will develop, maintain, and monitor a clinical case management system to provide continuity of care and follow-up for higher-need patients.
Initiate and develop on-going liaison relationships with community health providers, services, hospitals, and other resources.
Act as a consultant to assist providers and counselors with crisis services
Consult with faculty, staff, students and family members, who are concerned about a student while adhering to confidentiality guidelines.
Conduct research and/or scholarly activity relevant to the advancement of medicine and/or medical education that leads to publications
Involvement in campus and professional service, advise and mentor medical students, participate in career counseling, College of Medicine committees and/or administrative roles.
