The Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Kentucky is seeking a distinguished Associate or Full Professor for a tenure track, full time (12 month) position. We seek a researcher with a dynamic, productive research agenda that aims to make an impact in cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity, substance abuse, or other health conditions. This recruitment is a joint effort with one of the transdisciplinary research centers at the University of Kentucky with the goal to align the researcher’s expertise with the rich climate and resources found in these Centers of Excellence. These Centers include, but are not limited to, the Markey Cancer Center, Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences, Center for Health Services Research, Center for Health Equity Transformation, Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center, or the Saha Cardiovascular Research Center.
The ideal candidate will have NIH-funded research; aspire to engage in research mentorship, and contribute to a vibrant environment of scholars from the behavioral sciences, public health, social sciences, communication, health services research, biomedical informatics, health sciences (nursing, medicine, nutrition, etc.), and others. Research faculty members will therefore be given the opportunity to engage in broader research and training initiatives across all colleges of the University of Kentucky, including Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, Communication and Information Sciences, Health Sciences, etc. These initiatives include grant consultation and review; a dynamic speaker series and other enriching events; pilot project competitions; and outreach to the lay public.
