Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant/Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Clinical Chemistry. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree. Ph.D. applicants must have appropriate postgraduate board eligibility/certification (DABCC). M.D. applicants must have board eligibility/certification in clinical pathology. Physicians must be eligible/licensed in the state of Pennsylvania.
Teaching responsibilities may include fellows, residents, medical and graduate students.
Clinical responsibilities may include oversight of the core chemistry laboratory, clinical test interpretation, quality control, innovation and test development. The successful candidate will serve as Director of Clinical Chemistry. Given the requirement to provide strategic guidance for the laboratory in an era of evolving technology, demonstrated leadership experience is preferred.
