Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) is Southeastern Virginia’s premier medical education institution. Based in Norfolk’s historic Ghent neighborhood, EVMS offers a broad range ofprograms and areas of concentration in education, research, and patient care. With approximately 40% of its alumni remaining in Virginia’s practice medicine, EVMS makes a tremendous impact on the quality of life throughout the Commonwealth. astern Virginia Medical The chair of Dermatology will report directly to the Provost/Dean and be responsible for managing and aligning the departments academic, research and clinical activities with EVMS’ mission. Currently, the Department has five full time faculty members providing patient care and participating in collaborative research with investigators at EVMS, Hampton University and Old Dominion University. Clinical trials are conducted at Virginia Clinical Research, Inc. The graduate medical education program was established in 2002 and is accredited three year program that leads to eligibility for certification by the American Board of Dermatology.
Minimum required education and/or special licenses, registrations, trainings, or certifications
Must be Board Certified in Dermatology, have a distinguished record of scholarly activities, demonstrated achievements in teaching, collaborative research, mentorship and administrations, and the ability to articulate a vision for building high quality and financially sound clinical/academic programs.
