A Postdoctoral Position is available immediately at Dartmouth Medical School, on an NIH funded project to study the cell signaling pathways regulating glucose and mitochondrial metabolism, as well as the origins of the Warburg Effect.
We have developed optical instrumentation that measures the oxidation states of the cytochromes of the mitochondrial electron transport chain in living cells. We have combined this with measurements of oxygen consumption and glucose consumption, providing information on cellular energetics with exquisite detail. The goal of this project is to examine signaling pathways, including p53, AMPK and MAPK which modulate mitochondrial function.
The candidate must hold a doctoral degree, have experience with standard Molecular Biology techniques, preferably experience with establishing and validating stably transfected cell lines and have a publication record, commensurate with experience.
The candidate will work with cutting edge technology and have the opportunity to establish his/her own projects toward his/her own career development.
