The Alli Laboratory in the Department of Cancer Biology at Wake Forest School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated postdoc interested in investigating and manipulating tumorigenic mechanisms for purposes of cancer chemoprevention and/or targeted therapy. Current projects focus on (i) aberrations in oxidative DNA damage and response pathways that lead to cancer, (ii) the development of a novel class of drugs known as DNA repair-activating agents for the prevention of BRCA1-associated cancers, and (iii) the identification of new therapeutic approaches that selectively target defective base-excision repair of oxidative DNA damage in triple-negative breast cancers.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in the molecular biosciences or a related field, a solid background in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetic, and/or chemical techniques, significant experience with mammalian cell culture and mouse models, a proven scientific track record with publications in peer-reviewed journals, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
