Non-tenure track 10-month academic term faculty position, beginning October 1, 2018, at 100% time in the Department of Physiology, School of Medicine.

Teaching: Providing instruction to undergraduate, pre-professional and graduate students in a lecture and laboratory setting with the possibility of tutoring medical students in the first-year medical curriculum. Areas of instruction will include cellular and systemic physiology and/or functional anatomy. Duties will entail lecturing and developing introductory and advanced physiology courses; developing lab exercises and related instructional materials and developing new on-line courses.
Service: The faculty member is expected to participate in service activities beneficial to the department. The faculty member should demonstrate, by actions, commitment to the mission and the behavioral standards of SIU School of Medicine. The faculty member will provide excellent service to both internal and external customers through collaboration and partnership; compassion and respect; integrity and accountability; diversity and inclusion; as well as continuous learning and improvement.

Master’s degree or equivalent education in physiology, anatomy or related field. A PhD or equivalent degree in physiology or related field is preferred. Previous teaching experience in physiology is desirable.

Salary will be commensurate with education, experience and established School of Medicine guidelines.
