School of Medicine (SOM) within the Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health (SMAH) is a multidisciplinary school with a range of undergraduate and postgraduate course offerings in the fields of Indigenous Health, Medical and Exercise Science, Medicine, Nutrition and Dietetics. The multidisciplinary nature of the School provides exciting opportunities for interdisciplinary research and teaching. We focus on producing graduates who can work in a diversity of settings including rural and regional Australian, as well as internationally.

This position has the primary purpose of leading and conducting research using the skills of epidemiology as they relate to health and medicine. It will be expected that this position will work with clinician researchers and the SMAH Faculty to build broader epidemiological research opportunities, and to actively collaborate with the Faculty of Social Sciences (with a population health and social disadvantage focus). The position will also interface with the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences (with a strong mathematics and statistical capability), and the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute (a joint venture of UOW with the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District). As well as in research this position will both contribute to and provide academic leadership teaching of clinical epidemiology. The successful applicant will be offered a joint appointment with the SOM and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Active clinicians are welcome to apply and negotiation of time for clinical work will be considered.

You will be prompted to respond to the selection criteria as part of the online application process, based on the position description below.
