About the opportunity
As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer you will work as part of the medical education team at the Northern Clinical School – Hornsby to provide and support teaching, curriculum development and medical education activities across all stages of the MD program with a focus on Community term and General Practice. You will be encouraged to develop a research portfolio with the Discipline of General Practice according to your interests.

About you

  • medical graduate (MBBS, MD or equivalent)
  • post graduate training in General Practice – FRACGP or equivalent
  • eligible for full registration in Australia
  • high level communication and interpersonal skills
  • demonstrated experience in medical education and teaching skills
  • knowledge of research skills in health care particularly primary health care, general practice or education
  • experience in curriculum development, assessment and evaluation especially in general practice and primary healthcare is desirable
  • medical education qualification is desirable.

About us
The Hornsby Academic General Practice Unit is a long established teaching unit of the Northern Clinical School and provides teaching, supervision and management of Sydney Medical School students across all three stages of the Medical Programs and has primary responsibility for the delivery and management of the Community Specialty Block for students of both their Northern and the SAN Clinical Schools. The Unit is a key liaison point for the Hornsby Hospital medical administration staff as well as external partners in health based teaching and research activities at Hornsby Hospital with the University.
