Post-Doctoral Researcher to pursue specialized research training, education and experience in the study of cardiovascular and skeletal muscle biology under the direction of a scientific mentor in the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology; plans, focuses and evaluates research in apoptosis and signal transduction in inflammation and cancer; identifies and selects research problems to be studied; plans, designs and conducts advanced and complex experiments; performs both in vitro in vivo experiments using mouse strains; collects, analyzes and interprets data; collaborates with principal investigator to write and submit manuscripts, articles and other media for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals; designs and prepares presentations for dissemination of results at national and international scientific conferences and seminars; participates in the writing and preparation of grant applications for extramural funding and grant progress reports.

A doctoral degree in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or equivalent field of study required; previous research experience required; experience working with mice preferred; experience using molecular biology and biochemistry research methods highly desired.
