The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Genomic Diagnostics and will serve as an Assistant/Associate Director within this Division. Our Division performs a wide range of tests for diagnosis of both constitutional and cancer disorders. Significant experience with analysis of complex Next Generation Sequencing (exome sequencing, large panels, mitochondrial diagnostics) is necessary. We utilize both SNP based and array CGH platforms for chromosomal microarray analysis and experience with analysis of copy number is also required. Responsibilities include clinical test analysis and sign-out, quality control, innovation and test development. The successful candidate will play a strong role in teaching of fellows, residents, medical and graduate students. Applicants must have an M.D and/or Ph.D or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education, research, and clinical care. American Board of Medical Genetics certification (or eligibility) in Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics is required. Physicians must be eligible/licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
