The College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Cincinnati is inviting applications to fill a faculty position. The successful candidate will join our team of international leaders committed to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral disorders. The rank of the appointment (Assistant/Associate/Professor) is open and will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant.

We are seeking a board eligible or board certified geriatric psychiatrist to assist in developing and leading our geriatric program, including the expansion of our current geriatric research and clinical programs and educations efforts. Applicants should have experience with research and have a priority interest in geriatric mood disorders, although interest in cognitive aging and dementia, behavioral disturbance, and caregiver stress are highly valued.

New faculty members will join a collaborative and growing department with a strong research emphasis, as well as recognition from the Best Doctors in America and Top Doctors in Cincinnati. The successful candidate will have access to substantial funding for the development and expansion of their independent research program in a translational setting and to guide expansion of the existing research program.

In addition, geriatric psychiatry faculty at the College of Medicine will have the opportunity to practice in a multi-disciplinary environment dedicated to furthering the advancement of geriatric medicine, including strong partnership possibilities with faculty in neurology and family medicine. The successful candidate can anticipate outstanding salary and benefits, paid malpractice insurance, and the potential for a start-up package and sign-on bonus. Relocation is available to candidates moving to the Cincinnati area.

A successful candidate appointed at the Assistant Professor level will be expected to establish extramural funding and have a record of scholarly activity. A successful candidate appointed at the Associate Professor or Professor level should have a demonstrated track record of such sustained funding and publications.

All applicants must possess an M.D. or D.O, BE/BC in psychiatry, have completed fellowship training in geriatric psychiatry or equivalent experience, and have experience with geriatric research.
