Post Doctoral Research to pursue specialized training and experience in the Clinical Image Analysis (CIA) Lab (www.bmi.osu.edu/cialab), within the Department of Biomedical Informatics; develops image analysis systems for computer-assisted interpretation of radiological, microscopic, and dermatological images to help radiologists, pathologists, dermatologists, and biologists in their decision mechanisms; functions as an expert and resource in biomedical informatics and image analysis research; conceptualizes, designs, implements, evaluates, and directs research with regard to biomedical and imaging informatics; develops, adopts and implements new laboratory methods; participates as a team member with lab staff and students and collaborative researchers to interpret data and discuss project progress; collaborates with other researchers in determining research priorities and planning programs of research; keeps up to date with relevant published literature; develops and writes research manuscripts, articles, and abstracts; writes project reports; presents ongoing work and findings at local, national, and international conferences; develops and conducts educational workshops, lectures and seminars; assists in writing and submitting grant proposals for CIA lab-related research to extramural funding agencies; actively participates in activities to identify new technology and trends in imaging analysis; collaborates with scientific mentor in the selection and design of research methodologies used for data analysis and in establishing new lab methods and procedures; assists in supervising and mentoring graduate/undergraduate students; mentors and trains technicians within the CIA laboratory.

Doctoral Degree in biomedical informatics, computer science, electrical and computer engineering, or other applicable specialty; familiarity with Matlab and experience and background in image processing and analysis, pattern recognition, and/or computer-vision algorithms desired; requires successful completion of a background check; selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen;
