PSYCHIATRIST, FIU HEALTH BROWARD
DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami, Florida is currently seeking to fill multiple open rank full-time and part-time, non-tenure faculty positions within the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health (DOPBH). These positions will provide clinical care, teaching and other scholarly activities primarily at the FIU Health Broward Faculty Group Practice in Fort Lauderdale. The selected individuals will manage psychiatric evaluation of patients in an outpatient setting, psychopharmacologic management of patients, including management of patients with chronic, severe mental illness, and psychotherapy for patients as appropriate, adhering to evidence-based treatment guidelines. In addition, the positions will also include training FIU HWCOM medical students, FIU international visiting medical students and other trainees through didactic sessions, small group activities, or directly observing and evaluating their activities in clinical setting. All faculty members are also expected to participate in other scholarly activities.
Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree as an MD or DO (with training in allopathic psychiatry residency). Must be board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or obtain board certification within one year of employment. The candidate(s) must have a valid and unrestricted Florida medical license, or be able to obtain a medical license in the state of Florida prior to employment.
