Job Purpose

Teaching, Research, Community Service and Clinical work. This is an opportunity to serve the College of Medicine University of Sharjah as well as University Hospital Sharjah as a joint appointment that is privileged to cater both clinical and academic profiles. We look forward to qualified and experienced professionals who can deliver expertise as academic faculty as well as consultant surgeon.

Main accountabilities & expectations
1. Teaching, assessment, curriculum reforms and revision
2. Research and publications
3. University and community services
4. Consultant surgeon roles and responsibilities
5. Share in educational events and programs directed to clinical services
6. Supervising and mentoring undergraduate postgraduate students
7. Participate in student’s education and academic advising
8. Perform clinical services in related specialty
9. Able to teach PBL and integrated curriculum
10. Administration

Job Specific Accountabilities
The expected faculty will be responsible for clinical mentoring and teaching undergraduate medical students in surgery and allied disciplines. In addition, research, community and university services and surgical practice in hospital are expected. The successful candidate will work in a well-integrated team for the delivery of aforementioned roles with professional excellence.

Preferred Qualification & Experience

  • American Board/Equivalent fellowship in Surgery
  • At least five years’ experience of teaching and clinical experience in the related surgical field
