The Kent lab is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to pursue specialized training in translational vascular biology. This NIH funded position will investigate how pathologic signals engage epigenetic mechanisms to alter gene expression and initiate vascular remodeling. In collaboration with the mentor, the candidate will craft relevant research questions and hypotheses, develop and troubleshoot experimental techniques and protocols, draft manuscripts and patent applications and apply for extramural funding. The successful candidate will be a team player who aggressively pursues research and actively identifies/coordinates with available resources to facilitate efficient execution of the research plan.

The Kent lab is part of the Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute, a team of over 600 faculty, staff and trainees representing eight University Colleges and 26 different departments dedicated to discovering new diagnostics and treatments for patients with acute and chronic disease. The institute’s work spans from basic molecular and genetic research to large multi-center clinical trials. Collectively, we have over $30 million in active annual research funding to support our research, and have published nearly 500 research articles this past year.

The Ohio State University offers a research environment rich in collaboration, diversity, state of the art core facilities, and is home to robust postdoc and graduate student career development programs and support networks.
