Finally, the individual will actively recruit underrepresented minorities into the field of public health.

Applicants should have at least 5 years of experience in an accredited School of Public Health. Underrepresented minority applicants are particularly encouraged to apply.

The College of Public Health is Ohio’s first accredited college of public health. It is one of seven health sciences colleges on the same campus, more than any other university in the U.S. The college includes five academic divisions, four centers of outreach and engagement, four graduate degree programs with several specializations, and an undergraduate major and minor. The college is ranked 20th of all schools of public health nationally by US News & World Report. First established in 1995 as part of the College of Medicine, the University Board of Trustees created the College of Public Health in 2007. Specializations within the college include biostatistics, environmental health sciences, epidemiology, health behavior and health promotion, health services management and policy, veterinary public health, bioinformatics, and clinical and translational science.

The Ohio State University is ranked by US News & World Report as the state’s best public university and 18th nationally. Ohio State has increased its total research expenditures by 25.5 percent over the last five years. The university is ranked 14th of 912 universities in research expenditures and 9th for public universities by the National Science Foundation. Ohio State offers 175 majors and 12,000 courses to 64,000 students, including 50,000 undergraduates. Unique institutional strengths include the resources of 14 colleges, a nationally ranked academic medical center, and the recently announced Discovery Themes from which 500 tenure-track faculty are to be recruited over a 10-year period.
